Learn to meditate or deepen your meditation practice in a warm, kind, and supportive community. We meditate together and explore diverse aspects of insight (vipassana) meditation and related practices. The weekly group is drop-in and donation-based. Led by a rotating group of teachers as well as occasionally peer-led sessions.  This class serves as an introduction to the practices of awareness and compassion that are the heart of the IMCW community. Mindfulness Amongst the Bonsai

Slow down, awaken your senses, and come home to your body, breath, heart, and the natural world around you through heart centered mindfulness meditation practices. This class, co-sponsored by the National Bonsai Foundation and Insight Meditation Community of Washington (IMCW), will include guided sitting, standing, and walking meditations, mindful sharing and exploration among the nation’s premier bonsai collection of The National Bonsai & Penjing Museum at the U.S. National Arboretum. Mindful Movement Class

Optional mindful movement classes are held each week before Tara Brach’s Wednesday night drop-in mediation class. Mindful movement sessions are held in the Fireside room at River Road Unitarian, and are led by guest teachers each week. Mats are not provided so please bring one and any other material you might need for the session.
